Stardew Valley has passed 15 million copies sold across all platforms

 Stardew Valley has now sold over 15 million copies across all platforms. The creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is now working on a new game.

Stardew Valley was first released in Feb 2016 for Microsoft Windows. A 4 years old Indie game is still selling massively where it now passes 15 million sales milestones. That’s up from 10 million copies reported last year.

 

These numbers are absolutely massive for an Indie game. It makes Stardew Valley a one of the best selling indie games of all time. It’s really an incredible accomplishment.

 

Its creator had been frequently releasing free updates for game over the period but now it seems like Eric Barone has now moving onto his next project.

 

In recent interview with Eurogamer he said, “I’m not saying there’s going to be another Stardew Valley update.” He added “I don’t even know at this point. Right now I am focused on my next games.”

Genshin Impact revenue hits $1 Billion in less than six months

 miHoYo's Genshin Impact surpassed $1 Billion in player spending in less than six months, marking it fastest mobile game to hits that milestone (Pokemon GO took nine months), according to sensor tower. Breath of the Wild themed-like action RPG, Genshin Impact released in September 28, 2020. It received "generally favorable reviews". The game saw 23 million downloads on mobile platforms and generates $60 mn revenue within a week after its launch. Mobile version of Genshin Impact frequently generated revenue. It grossed $245 million in its first month and $393 million in the first two months. Its revenue hits $874 in just five months. While Pokemon GO grossed $207 million in its first month. Free-to-play game, Genshin Impact revenue soared to $1 bn in less than six months. This does not even include PS4 revenue and PC revenue. Genshin Impact first released in September 2020 for Android, IOS, PS4 and Windows.

The Long Dark passed 5 million sales

The first-person action-adventure survival game, The Long Dark, has sold over five million copies worldwide. Announced by publisher and developer Hinterland Studio. That’s up from 3.3 million in September 2019. The game has also another 3.5 million active players through Xbox Game Pass and Epic Game Store as it was a free-giveaway during the Christmas.
